MBP Director

Stephanie Roland

Ms. Stephanie received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Marymount University.  She began working at the Preschool in January of 2003 and has also assisted in various areas of the church. 

Ms. Stephanie has three adult children and a granddaughter, Parker, who will be two in November!

 2 ½ Year Old Class

Lead Teacher: Lori Morton

Ms. Lori has been with Manassas Baptist Preschool since 2006. She started as an Assistant Teacher when her daughter (now a junior in high school) attended MBP. She was promoted to Lead Teacher in 2008.

Ms. Lori holds a bachelor’s degree Longwood College (now University) majoring in Modern Language with a concentration in Spanish and minor in American Literature. She is married with a son (19) and a daughter (16). Ms. Lori loves working with our littlest students in the Monkey Class and is looking forward to another great year!

2 ½ Year Old Class

Assistant Teacher: Erin Locke

Ms. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from George Mason University.  While this is her first-year teaching here at Manassas Baptist, she was active this past year as a substitute and volunteer. 

Ms. Erin has lived in Manassas for the past eleven years with her husband and three daughters, ages 15, 12, and 5- all of whom attended Manassas Baptist Preschool!  Ms. Erin is excited to be here with all of the 2 1/2 -year- old Monkeys!

3 Year Old Class

Lead Teacher: Tawanda Dawns

Ms. Tawanda has been with Manassas Baptist Preschool for the past 8 years. She began by helping out with the MOPS program, substituting and as an Assistant Teacher.

Ms. Tawanda has been the Lead Teacher for the 3’s class for the past 6 years. She attended the University of South Carolina before leaving to pursue other endeavors. Ms. Tawanda is married with two children: a daughter and son.

3 Year Old Class

Assistant Teacher: Ms. Julie Galuski

Ms. Julie and her family have been attending Manassas Baptist Church for the past six years. Ms. Julie volunteers on Wednesday nights working with the D6 program. Last year Ms. Julie joined the 3-year-old class as an Assistant Teacher and had previously served as a substitute and volunteer in the preschool.

Over the past fifteen years, Ms. Julie has actively been involved in MOPS. She started attending MOPS with her children then took on a leadership position and then helped to start a MOPS program in her church and was a coordinator then helped with MOPS childcare. Ms. Julie is married with a son and a daughter in high school.

3 Day Jr. Kindergarten Class

Lead Teacher: Debbie Whelchel

Ms. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Music Education from James Madison University. Debbie began working in the 2 ½-year-old Class in 2009 and has spent several years helping  in childcare for the Church for Women’s Bible Study and MOPS.

Ms. Debbie also is part of the Praise Band which plays for the Contemporary Service here at MBC. Ms. Debbie is married with 2 grown children and teaches private piano lessons (since 1988) in her spare time.

3 Day Jr. Kindergarten Class

Assistant Teacher: Tracey Strickland

Ms. Tracey and her family have been active at Manassas Baptist Church for several years. Ms. Tracey has been with the preschool for many years working as a substitute, helping with the MOPS program, and Tuesday morning Bible Study childcare. This is Ms. Tracey’s 3rd year as an Assistant Teacher in the Jr. Kindergarten Class.

5 Day Jr. Kindergarten

Lead Teacher: Barb Donaldson

Ms. Barb holds a Bachelor’s in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Bay Path College and an Associates in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management from Bath Path Jr. College.

Ms. Barb began teaching at Manassas Baptist Preschool in the fall of 2003. She has 4 children, with the 3 youngest being triplets, who are getting ready to start their final year of college.

5 Day Jr. Kindergarten

Assistant Teacher: Kim Sweet

Ms. Kim has been attending Manassas Baptist Church for the past 12 years and has been the Assistant Teacher for the 5-day Jr. Kindergarten for the past 5 ½ years.

Ms. Kim has also assisted with the MOPS program, Tuesday morning Bible Study childcare, and Wednesday night activities at the church. Ms. Kim is married and has a 9-year-old daughter who attended MBP. In her spare time, Ms. Kim enjoys babysitting.
